and Information …
The information is correct at time of issue. We may need to amend these details at any time so do check for updates.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to our new site at Bromyard this year and we hope that the following information will be helpful to you, and for all of us, to keep the site a friendly and safe place to stay.
Whilst we endeavour to keep all the facilities, clean, pleasant and in full working order we may miss things so do please report any issues with facilities direct to the Box Office or let a member of our volunteer steward team know as soon as possible. Thank you.
Camping: We have general, accessible camping and short stay (one night only) camping areas and our stewards will direct you to the appropriate area on arrival. If you have a disability and/or need assistance with your tent, we will do our best to help, please ask at the Box Office or, better still, let us know in advance by emailing us at the address below. To keep us all safe and tidy, please make sure you keep to the designated boundaries and pick up your litter to help keep the site clear.
Water: There are standpipes around the site for all water requirements, including filling drinking water bottles (see map for locations). Please try to use eco-friendly washing up liquid for your dishes to minimise its impact on the environment, as all washing up water is disposed of on the ground.
Toilets: There are plenty of port-a-loos, including 3 accessible ones, which are serviced and cleaned early every morning to maintain as high a standard as possible. Please help us keep to keep them clean at all times. They are equipped with toilet tissue and sanitising liquid for hand cleansing.
Chemical toilet emptying: please do not empty waste into port-a-loos; there is a portable sluice (Elsan Point) available for toilet emptying, please see map for location (or ask one of our stewards). Use the refuse bins for disposing of carefully wrapped nappies and sanitary items, etc.
Showers: There are showers available on-site (location shown on map). Please keep your showers short to avoid queues.
Refuse Disposal – Leave no Trace: We strive to ensure that our site is litter free, and that we “leave no trace” on the land of our activities after our festival, we also encourage recycling. Please place all rubbish in the large Red Skips that are placed around the site, there is no need to separate items as this is handled by our skip provider. At the end of your visit, please dispose of all rubbish and do not leave behind any items, so we can return the site to its natural state.
Safety: Any open ground can be uneven in places. Please be careful when you are walking about the site and bring a good torch to use at night. Make yourself aware of the First Aid point and the various fire points around the site. If camping, consider keeping a bucket of water outside your tent for fire emergencies.
Fires: For safety reasons, Campfires and BBQs are NOT allowed. There are late-night firepit sessions scheduled if the weather allows. Please note: Only festival staff are allowed to light the fire, and it is monitored and doused at the end of the session. Exceptional weather conditions (either heavy rain or very hot, dry weather) may mean relocation or cancellation of these sessions depending on the situation.
Dogs: Sorry, no dogs are allowed, except for assistance dogs please inform us when booking if you do wish to bring such a dog on site.
Noise: Not everyone is a night owl so please respect others and the environment by keeping your noise to a minimum especially after 10.30 at night. If you want to sing/talk into the small hours, please do so away from sleeping areas.
Vehicle Movement: To avoid accidents this must be kept to an absolute minimum. The on-site speed limit is 5mph. We reserve the right to restrict vehicle movement as necessary. Be aware that for security, the main field gates are closed at 10 pm.
Weather; do remember this is English Summer so be prepared for anything! So a gentle reminder to pack: sun hat and cream for when the sun is blazing; waterproofs and wellies for those unexpected (often heavy)downpours; and don’t forget how cold it can get at night – so if you plan on being at the late-night sessions a blanket and woolly jumper would be a good idea.
Do look out for any changes on the website in the weeks leading up to the Festival – and during the weekend there are always plenty of Stewards (wearing hi-vis jackets when on duty) around site who can help you with queries so do ask, or check at the Box Office for additional information. We are here to help and make sure that we offer you a fabulous FatE experience.
If you have any queries that haven’t been answered, please e mail any questions to the address below or (only) if urgent ring the Festival phone. Please be aware that the phone and e-mail are monitored by volunteers so the response may not be instant. Thank you
Enjoy your Visit!
